The goal of holistic therapy is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Each session is tailored to meet your unique needs. Traditional talk therapy is a very valuable tool but often only addresses your emotional needs. Holistic therapy focuses on the entire person, integrating aspects of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual/life purpose.


Together we will address all aspects of your life in order to provide long-lasting healing from anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions.

I’m so happy you are here! Successful therapy starts with a strong and

trusting relationship between therapist and client. Our work together

is a collaboration: You are the master of your own life, and I am here as

a trusted guide. I strive to create a safe space for you to process whatever

is on your mind. Though it can be hard work, I truly believe therapy can 

be fun and engaging.

I’m a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) and received my Master’s of Clinical Psychology from UNC-Charlotte. I went back to graduate school in 2017 to get my Master’s in Fine Arts (MFA) in Poetry. I consider myself a holistic psychologist but am open to using any healthy healing methods that are important to you. I’m a lifelong learner, endlessly curious, and have a passion for helping people use their passions for healing.


I have special interest in working with empaths, highly sensitive people (HSPs), and anyone who has been told they are "too sensitive.” If you are often overstimulated by the world, feel deeply moved by beauty and sadness, or have the desire to help others but find it difficult to separate your emotions from theirs, then we may be a great fit for your therapy journey.


I am a Mindfulness Instructor, Reiki practitioner, and Poetry Therapist. I embrace diversity and am open to working with anyone who comes from a place of open-mindedness and genuine desire to heal.


When I’m not working, you can find me hiking in nature, especially by water. I am a fan of writing poetry, quaint coffee shops, laughing until I cry, and cats. Please contact me when you are ready to start your healing journey!


There is no one right way to heal. Everyone's anxiety or depression affects them in different ways. I am here to help you find what method works best for you. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness practices, all of which are proven to help with anxiety, depression, and other life issues. If you are more comfortable with traditional talk therapy, that's a great place for us to start!

I am also an advocate for more non-traditional yet very effective techniques, such as walking in nature (‘walk and talk therapy’), poetry therapy, breathwork, sound healing and many other creative healing modalities. If you have a healing practice that is important to you, I'd love to incorporate that into our sessions. 

My approach is humanistic and client-centered which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. You already have all the answers inside you to live the life you want and deserve. It will be our job together to bring those answers to the surface and integrate them into a peaceful existence.

Sliding scale available for those with financial hardship. Based on availability, I may have a pro bono spot open. I offer discount packages for multiple sessions and work hard to offer affordable healing sessions for everyone.

I am currently private pay only but will offer you the necessary documentation to submit out-of-network claims to your insurance provider. Please contact your provider directly about what out-of-network benefits may be available.

Cancellation Policy

Ashley Steineger Counseling and Wellness requires  clients to provide 24 hours advanced notice to change or cancel your appointment. If such notice is not provided, or if you do not attend a scheduled session, a fee equal to a full session rate will be applied to your account.
